Roots for everyone's heart

Roots For Everyone's Heart - (Aufie Zophy)

There is a tree
A wonderful tree
The tree of kindness
It is the fastest growing tree
In this world, God bless

There is a tree
The wonderful kindness tree
Taking deep roots forever to last
In a million people's heart
Spouting and growing enormously fast

There is a tree
That wonderful kindness tree
It grows so fast, that soon enough
The whole wide world on sea and earth
will be filled with comfort and love

There is a tree
That wonderful tree of kindness
Roots spreading in another million hearts
spouting and growing reaching high and wide
And then in another million hearts it starts

And then another two million
And five million more to come
A billion hearts soon will follow
I already smell its wonderful blossom
Roots in everyone's heart will show

Oh, it is growing so fast, this tree
let's sit and enjoy in its amazing shadow
And just let the roots in your heart grow!

Kindness tree

I was reading some old blog posts and more than 5 years ago,
this poem*about a kindness tree was written:

Let us together imagine that such a tree is growing,
taking roots in your heart and in my heart,
and then forming one stem and a magnificent crown;
taking roots in another 10 people's heart,
and still forming one big virtual stem and a superbly big crown;
taking roots in a million people's heart,
and still forming one virtual huge stem with a huge crown.

Imagine,
all of us contributing nutrients to that wonderful virtual tree
that keeps us all connected
and makes this world the most beautiful place in the universe.

Let us strengthen the roots of that tree in our own heart today
and nourish the kindness tree of the world everyday a bit more

Imagine,
the fruits of chronic happiness and peace of mind...

Care

When I grew up, Christmas time meant family time.
The coziness of cold evenings, spent near the wood fire.
The small but beautiful decorations, put up by my mom.
Now it has become a time of the year of peace and reflection.
My mom is no longer around, my dad neither.
I still value so much the values they taught me:

Roots reaching deep
in my heart and soul
A seed had been planted
Mom had planted love and care

The roots reach so deep
'coz she watered the seed
she fed it and let grow
from sapling to majestic tree

The roots are deep and strong.
Getting love and care, for so long
Blossoms, fruits all year round
Seeds to share and lots of bliss

So many thanks my mom

The story of the bamboo

The Chinese bamboo tree grows very slowly for 3 to 5 years, after which it suddenly can grow a few feet within weeks. During the period of slow growth it builds an underground network of roots and builds up the energy that will be necessary for the rapid growth phase.

Ferns grow quite fast very soon after planted but never reach the height of an adult bamboo tree.

The Chinese parable of the bamboo tree compares humans to ferns and bamboos. Some of us are made to grow fast but do not reach the final heights of those among us who need to build a strong foundation before we can start to grow fast. It is a story of patience and perseverance. If we do not see the growth in our life even though we work hard and live a good life, this may the period we require to grow strong roots to sustain us when we experience rapid growth.

Sometimes we need to learn so many lessons, especially the lesson of humility before we can grow as the bamboo tree, very fast. Without humility we tend to be so reckless that after a period of rapid growth, we will fall as fast as we were growing. Only if we have a strong foundation of values we will stay at a good height. I do not consider the billionaires or presidents of large nations who cannot even manage their own core family as high growers. They may be in the news, but they are often so far from peace of mind and true happiness that it is hard to call them truly successful. Becoming very wealthy without peace of mind or true happiness is a far cry from true success

Power in seeds

the seed that breaks through the cement
the grass growing on the parking lot
the power in a single seed.

Let the words above enter your mind
read them again
Let the words enter your heart
read them again
Let them enter your soul
read them again

While the seed of a plant is extremely powerful
think about the power in a seed of love
a seed of kindness, a seed of caringness, 'sharingness'.

Let us plant a seed of love in our mind, heart and soul
Let it grow roots today and spout
Then water it and let it grow
No cement, no concrete will be able to contain it
It will break through all barriers, it will grow no matter what

Into a wonderful tree carrying blossoms, and flowers
and fruits and millions of new seeds
to be planted in us, in everyone we meet
Let us plant these seeds today
Everywhere.

The world in which George Floyd was murdered
will transform
Keep planting seeds and the world
will change

Are you sceptic about a new world filled with love?
Once the time of an idea has come,
nothing can stop it
Emancipation of women
Smoking bans
Life moves on fast
The world is getting better.
Nothing can stop love and kindness anymore.
Be part of it, believe in it, plant the seed of love
Plant it everywhere and let it spout, water it.
A jungle of love will grow over the desert of greed.
Soon. Very soon.

Forest bath

In Japan, in the 1980s, Japanese doctors saw a lot of depression and high stress levels in their patients. They wondered if they get their patients back to nature, whether that would be helpful and they did research on the topic. Taking a "forest bath" was not only beneficial to the mental health of the patient but also physically the patients experienced lots of benefits in terms of blood pressure, heart rate and even blood sugar levels.

Forest bathing is not a hike for physical fitness or exploring the woods, it is merely spending time in nature, in the forest (or the park) and get your senses (at least 4 of them) to experience the calmness and serenity of nature. For sure visually is the easiest. Just taking the time to observe the beauty of a tree, the wonderful crown with the plentiful adorable leaves, the stem and the texture of the bark and the amazing roots. But then we can close our eyes and try to hear the sounds, the sounds from far away but also the sounds of the tree (the wind in the leaves, the birds in the crown,...) and feel the bark of the tree. Let the energy flow. Feel the air on our cheeks, in our hair. Taking a deep breath and feeling the air in our nose in our throat and in our chest. Taking in the smells of the tree, the smell of the woods, ... If we happen to find a chestnut, we can even taste the forest.

I love walks in the forest, I love walks on the beach. even before I read about the research of forest baths, I knew that walks in nature have powerful healing properties, especially for  our soul, but also for our body, mind and heart.

If you have not tried a forest bath, please make some time for a walk in nature without other objective than to take in the beauty of it all. Not for fitness, not for exploration, just to enjoy the great pleasure of spending pure time in nature.

One world

"You may say I am a dreamer,
but I am not the only one
I hope some day, you will join us
and the world will live as one"

Do you remember these beautiful lyrics

"Imagine all the people sharing all the world"

Let us all join that dream.
I know that your neighbors may be still angry people,
perhaps envious of you or over-greedy.

The world is extremely far from the "dream"
The idea of unity and universal sharing has been around for >3000 years.
I guess we had to achieve a certain level of technology to provide enough,
enough for the whole world population.

I think now is the time,
that we do have enough if we do away with greed
I think now is the time,
the idea of sharing among everyone is taking roots
I think now is the time,
the tree of kindness is ready to shoot out of the ground
and grow into a huge forest in which the world can get lost
I think now is the time,
the solidarity among people is ready to blossom.
I think now is the time,
that the ugly face of greed is showing
its disgusting face in so many governments
I think now is the time for wisdom
to gain track
I think now is the time.

All we need is enough people to join the dream!

Trees

Here I want to share with you my recent experience sitting outside.

I was sitting outside in my garden and suddenly managed to appreciate how beautiful one of the trees was. It was a tree, I had walked by countless times but had never really noticed its particular beauty. And now I just sat there, not far from that particular tree, truly admiring the beauty of the texture of its bark. I could see the roots disappear in the depth of the soil and above form the crown with all the shades of green it displayed. I loved it, I had like a few moments of joy.

A little bit more reflection made me look at other trees too and surely they had so much beauty too. I had so many trees in and outside my garden, in my village! And all had their own special beauty. Let us all make some time today to pick a tree, take a closer look at it, discover its amazing beauty and just sit not far from it and have a few truly enjoyable moments.

Some people hug trees, talk to trees. This is not very much in my character to do. But I will surely try to make a bit more time to just watch some trees and perhaps in the weekend I will try to plant some new ones for the next generation :)

Lovely trees

I love trees. Do you love them too?
Just now at 10.15 PM, i thought for awhile about my day.
I became aware I had not taken even a minute to watch a tree.

So I went out, put on some garden lights and watched
I watched the beautiful majestic crown of a tree
Then its stem and I mused about how deep the roots must go.

The silence of the night, the scantiness of the garden lights
gave the whole scene a touch of magic.

It felt like my soul was ready to break its silence
and talk to me about the endless wisdom hidden
in the universe.

I love trees, do you too?

The mountain gone

My soul has no hands and no feet
but it ran over the mountain
that stood between you and me
It dug a hole in the soil
and planted a fine young tree

The roots soaked up all earth
that had made up the mountain

Soon the mountain was gone
and a majestic tree
provided some shadow
to love forever, you and me
in perfect harmony

---------------------------------------------------------
Small poem from the deepest of my heart.
Our soul can move mountains, if only we let it.
Harmony is possible, if we want it hard enough

Forest

A walk in the forest
Deep inhalation
The summer green

A tree and its fabulous stem
A tree and its wondrous crown
And then the roots
an intimate network
hidden but so effective

The soil and the ferns
the song of the birds
A walk in the forest

Reflection 120 (Twist)

Twist

I was just finishing reading the fifth chapter of Oliver Twist, the novel by Charles Dickens.
Dickens is a great writer and once you start reading, you are eager to know what happens next making it difficult to put the book down. Anyhow I am reading it online. Did you know that you can read so many great works of old completely free online. Not only all fantastic works of RW Emerson are freely available online, but also books like the one mentioned above.

The reason for this writing is actually to express how much awareness came to my mind that the world is indeed changing extremely fast. I learned from more scientific sources that the picture painted in the first five chapters of Oliver Twist, may be quite accurate in how orphans and children in general were dealt with, less than 200 years ago.

Humanity, loving kindness and caring charity has progressed enormously over the past 2 centuries and still the majority of us staring at the news on TV and think that the world is in a downwards spiral. Nothing is further from the truth.

The world is getting better day by day. Kindness is ever increasing, people get inspired and go on inspiring others in an exponential way. So abstain for one day from news on TV, from newspapers, from news on the internet and enjoy being part of the enormous kindness revolution that has taken deep roots and is ready spout shoot up in the fastest growing tree giving comfort and peace to the whole wide world.

The miracle of kindness has become undestroyable

I feel the need to say a small prayer for this big world
The unique part of our human nature is our happiness
which depends on being good and helping other humans

We have evolved from warring tribes into many loving communities
And that is one of the biggest miracles that have happened in this world
But a few barbaric people have grabbed power through endless lies

Please, our God, let this huge work and that superb miracle
of having truly loving, helping and free communities around the world
not go to pieces, because of a few handfuls of power-sick greedy minds,
for whom billions of dollars seem never enough.

The peace that was in the air this morning
The love that was surrounding my own community
The superb altruism that has evolved.

So precious. On the surface they seem fragile
But the roots reach deep and let the forest of kindness
be soon lush again, filled with blossoms of Love.

That amazing Love with capital L
