Peace of mind

Peace is so much more than the absence of war.

Peace of mind is among the essential components of happiness.

 

The wonderful thing is that this peace of mind is not costing anything.

It is around us, in us at all times. 

We just need to become aware of it. 

We just need to be ready to receive it.

 

Ready to receive peace of mind is

ready to give up our daily anger.

ready to give up our grudges or hatred

ready to forgive and be grateful

ready to be kind to all we meet

ready to see the beauty in nature 

Let us all get ready right now. 

In the next few seconds I am ready to not be angry for the rest of the day.

In the next few seconds I am ready to forgive whoever wronged me

In the next few seconds I plan to look for beauty and be grateful for it

In the nest few seconds I plan unconditional kindness

I expect some peace of mind

I expect lots of peace of mind. 

 

Let us all do it!

Giant Hamster

 If I have nutty thoughts
that would benefit me
but harm another one,
please giant hamster,
do come and gobble them up,
those nutty thoughts;
devour the nuttiness
that it may be forever lost.

A fun way to deal with greedy thoughts:

Imagine a giant hamster  and feed your "nuttiness" of greed to the hamster. :)

Once the greed is gone, kindness remains. 

 

Be loved

 I want to be loved.

Being loved feels good

But it is not within my control.

I may do crazy things to be loved 

But still not be loved and feel frustrated.

I want to give love.

Giving love feels even better.

It is within my control.

I don't need to do crazy things

Some may love me back, some not.

No matter what, it still feels good.

Big

 Among the biggest gifts on earth

is the opportunity to serve

If we compare the huge pleasure that lies in selfless service, 

to the relatively small pleasure of getting something, 

it is surprising that still so many people

mainly ask: 'What can I get?' 

rather than: 'How can I serve?'

The young river

A young river,

So strong
Nothing could stop it
Nothing went wrong

Big rocks in its way
No problem at all
It went over them
Around them if tall

But then it met the desert
Water sank deep into sand
Huge problem for the river
It looked like its life was to end

Desperately
It turned to our God
'Please, God help me
To get away from or over this spot'

A voice from above said
'Look at the wind in the sky
It crosses the desert so easily
So just stop to cry! '

'But I am not wind, I am water
How can I cross
Please help me
I am at a loss'

'Did you forget dear river, '
Said the voice from above
'Long time before you were a river
The wind carried you with love'

The river let its water evaporate;
allowed the wind to carry it once more.
And in its loving arms,
wind held the river as before

Across the desert they went
A lot of water in a big large cloud
And at the other side
The wind let it rain out

There the river again became strong
Even better and stronger than before
With much vigor it ran
For everyone to adore

Dear young men and women alike
If you meet with the desert or anything wrong
Remember who carried you
Before you became a river so strong
