Riches

A woman gave an alm to a blind beggar leaving herself with not enough cash to hail a taxi. So she went back by bus. On the bus it was super crowded and she had to stand pressed between other travelers. The high heels, she had chosen to wear in the morning were hurting her feet and she felt bad about it.

Then while the bus was waiting in front of a traffic light she noticed two homeless men having a merry time. They were absorbed in a nice conversation and on and off they heartily laughed at each other's jokes. The woman on the bus enjoyed the scene. When the bus started to move, she could see that the two men had actually no legs.

She decided to get of the crowded bus a few blocks before she reached her house and to walk the rest of the way. Her feet still hurt a bit, but she thoroughly enjoyed every step, being aware of her own richness to have legs and be able to walk.

Morning

I wish you a good morning
No, not just a good morning, a glorious morning
A morning filled with grace and beauty
Filled with love and kindness

Let us feel  the love in our heart,
that big wide river
that we will let flow throughout the day
 towards our lovely family
towards our lovely friends
towards the strangers we meet
towards our colleagues at work
towards the people that have been good to us,
towards the people that have been not good tous
Let's mix it with a bit of pity
and send a few buckets of love to our enemies too.

Let us scoop bucket after bucket
out of that endless, limitless river of love
flowing through our heart
and shower anyone we meet with love, love love.
with kindness, kindness, kindness
with peace, peace, peace
with serendipity, abundance and love...

The broken spirit

I wrote three posts today.
Suggested reading order:
3. This post

Astrid lost her husband in a motor vehicle accident while Kevin, her only child, was struggling a losing fight against a relapsed leukaemia. After the death of her son, she was so devastated. She could not concentrate on her highly-paid job and got fired.

Her spirit was broken. To keep paying the rent she had to take a low paying cleaning job. Her life was miserable. At times, she felt so low, she was thinking of ways to end her own life. Her spirit was broken.

The loneliness was unbearable. Weeks passed, months passed and everything seemed only to get worse every day. Her spirit was broken.

One day she was walking home, deeply depressed after long hours of her cleaning job.  A small cat, perhaps only a few weeks old, had followed her while she walked home. She had noticed the cat and walked a bit faster than usual, hoping the cat would stay behind. But the little cat followed her until she reached home. The kitten made its crying kitten sounds and somehow the heart of Astrid, the woman with the broken spirit got moved. She poured a bit of milk in a saucer and offered it to the kitten. The kitten purred.

That night, for the very first time since long, Astrid felt a bit less depressed. She went a few times to her doorstep and was each time happy that the kitten still was there. Before bedtime, she added a bit of milk.

The kitten had found a new home and Astrid had bought a few kitten things. Her week had been so different from the many weeks before. She thought by herself: if a simple kindness to a kitten can make such a difference for me, what could kind acts for fellow humans do to me?

She decided to spend the weekends helping out in a soup kitchen or going to wheel elderly from a nearby old folks home for a walk. She kept caring for the growing kitten. Her depression was fading and even though the memories of her only son and husband  came back regularly, bringing her to tears, her spirit was no longer broken.

She had found a new sense of purpose and not long after she found a better paying job in the old folks home.

Astrid's spirit was no longer broken

Where is the sea of abundance?

 It is right here
It sits inside of our mind,
It sits inside of our heart
Inside our soul.

An abundant sea of love sits in our heart.
It was planted there since we were babies.
We just make it quiet inside and find it.
We can shower it on everyone we meet.

The story of the broken spirit illustrates it so nicely: the-broken-spirit

Let us become aware of the sea of love
Sitting in our heart and pour buckets
Buckets of love on our family and friends
It'll feel so good, whether returned or not.

The more we give away from it
The faster it refills
The more we let it flow out
The faster an unlimited source refills it.

Tha same goes for a sea of peace.
Let us become aware of it

Abundant health and wealth is a bit more complex.
Not every health conditionwill be cured by giving more love
But many will
The reduced stress will result in less health problems

The habit of being lovely and kind
Will reduce our cravings for sweets.
Almost automatically our activity will be more
And our chances will go up to truly tap
The sea of abundant health

The habit of sending love and peace
Will make us more attractive
Our chances will go up to tap
The sea of abundant wealth

Come let us go to the sea of abundance
And bring back a truck of luck
Let's go!

The Sea of Abundance

One person went to the sea of abundance
bringing a spoon
One person went to the sea of abundance
bringing a glass
One person went to the sea of abundance
bringing a bucket
One person went to the sea of abundance
bringing a truck

There is a sea of abundance
for you and for me
let's go there with a truck
and bring back a truck of luck

Lets go to the sea of abundance
just you and me
abundant love
abundant health
abundant peace
abundant wealth

a large big tuck, we'll fill
with love, oh yea, we will
love and peace for you and me
a truck filled with serendipity

Let's go to the sea of abundance
just you and me
we can come back every day
never losing our way, eternally

abundant love

The pillow

My heart is a feathery soft pillow
Made to support your wary mind
Let your head sink in deep and low
In that tender fluffy heart of mine

You will hear the sweet and lovely song
Coming from my ever caring soul
And when you feel well and strong
You 'll be walking on and standing tall

The Search for Truth

 The search for Truth
a tough ride
Never ending
but every glimpse
every spark
gives so much warmth
so much peace
that the true seeker
goes on searching
on that very tough ride
to find the next glimpse
 to find the next spark

We are talking about the Truth about life, the one with capital T. About the Truth surrounding the love and kindness we try to achieve, about the spiritual Truth. We are not talking about the truth from the politicians or from the big pharma. Finding truth from these sources is extremely difficult. While we have  to deal with the lies we encounter from these sides, we still can enjoy discovering the spiritual Truths of being non-judgemental, of living a life of purpose and asking our Creator what is the next big step for us in our human unfolding.

The tourist

There was a tourist and he stopped to ask you the way to a place not so far away.
Then he went on talking without giving you a chance to show him the way.
He asked three more times the same question but each time, he went on talking and then suddenly he left.

How do you feel about the tourist?

Don't we act a bit like the tourist if we ask our Creator to show us the way. Then we go on talking and without taking the time to think about what is this way for us, about how much we were on this way today, about what can we do to be more on our Creator's way tomorrow.

Tonight, let's ask our Creator to show us the way, and then  make the time for a deep reflection πŸ˜€

The real revolution

Kindness levels were never really low

Even though its progess may have been slow

Advancing, it steadily and certainly did

While not everyone may be aware of it

But now, kindness will start moving real fast

Oh, yes, a kindness revolt that will forever last

Unconditional love wins

There was a girl, named Rabia
Captured by vicious men
Sold as slave at a very tender age
Imagine, if you can

Work was tough
Hard, early until late, every day
The master was rough
Bad temper was his way

The master came home quite late one night
He could hear from Rabia’s room some noise
He was concerned, went nearer
It was a whispering voice

He was curious to whom his servant
Would still talk to so late at night
He went to the window to see
And could not believe the sight

The girl he treated rough and hard
Was sitting there to pray
Asking blessings for her master
From the Creator of night and day.

Through his heart, a remorseful wave:
Who was he to treat this saintly girl as slave
He set Rabia from slavehood free
A true saint, she went on to be

Those moments

Connecting to the deepest self within, to the soul, not rarely  results in sudden enriching insights. How do I wish that these moments of connection would occur more frequent. But it are these moments that give us hope in a world that seems sometimes quite hostile to peace.

Let us celebrate our own soul moments and try to connect more often.

Life becomes more interesting when we manage to listen to our soul

Crazy times

We do live in crazy times

Who could have imagined in the mid eighties that forty years later we would  have European leaders wanting war, not peace. Who would have anticipated that a huge number of Western citizens do not only tolerate but support the war rhetoric of their politicians who have apparently successfully through a series of wicked lies instilled a senseless fear in a majority of people? Who would have thought that the threat of a nuclear war in the 2020's would be greater than ever before? Who would have anticipated that a large group of people support the vast destruction happening in the middle east?

When I silently pray for some insights about the reason for all these things, I am often a bit at a loss. But at moments of a strong faith, I got a vision, an insight that our Creator will not allow the senseless destruction of our whole world. The cruelties happening now, images and all evil talk being recorded, will serve somehow as a strong reminder of how dangerous it can become if we allow greed to reign. I am quite convinced that that the greed of the "super-mighty" may implode as a cancer destroying a body from within. I am quite convinced that a person with super authority will arise ( a bit like Hitler could arise in Germany, creating monsters out of previously normal Germans), that will be able to convince and transform our society not into monsters but into "angels", who value kindness, honesty, unconditional love, real progress, helpfulness and all good things.

You may feel that I am overly optimistic and hopeful for the world but to me that is the one thing that makes most sense.

Do you agree or disagree? Please let us discuss it in the comments section of this post.

A smile

I was just reading this nice quote:

Be the reason someone smiles
Be the reason someone feels loved
And believes in the goodness of people
(R Bennet)

Nice quote, isn't it?

It brought me a bit closer to the path of our Creator, that path that invariably leads to true peace, joy and happiness :)

The birth of love

 We are all pregnant
with that inner desire
to do good things

Then we perform
a simple useful service
and love is born

And with love, joy
and feeling good
and peace of mind

Every time we do
an act of useful service
another bit of love is born

and another bit of joy
and another bit of feeling good
and another bit of peace of mind

Tomorrow is mother's day.

Making a bit of time

Please enjoy, from almost absurd, to quite common, to very common, but all the same...

The first story

Magnus was a guy and his hair was quite long. It had grown longer than his forehead and quite often it hung in front of his eyes. He wanted his hair to be cut but did not have any money on him. He passed by a barber shop and recognized his friend inside, busy cutting hair. He went inside and explained his own lack of money, while he really wanted a hair cut. His friend agreed to cut his hair for free. He asked Janus to sit in the chair in front the mirror. But Janus did not agree to sit there. He said: "I have not time to sit in that chair". He went out of the shop and his hair was still hanging in  front of his eyes.

The second story

Marcus had developed a lot of pain in the left of part of his lower abdomen. It radiated to his back.  He went to the doctor who examined his closely, did some tests. The doctor made his diagnosis and advised Marcus to do ten minutes per day a specific type of exercise  and take some medication. Marcus went back and had no time for exercise and forgot most of the time to take the medication. Marcus continued to have pain.

The third story

Marius had a big problem. His problem was not physical but more on the psychological/spiritual level. Lately he had felt depressed and he easily lost his temper, much more frequently than before. He started praying to Our Creator, saying meticulously all words of a prayer he had memorized during his childhood. The Creator wanted to help but as soon He wanted to send some new positive  and creative thoughts to Marius, Marius was busy playing with his phone. His problems were not solved

Epilogue

If we want our hair cut, we have to make some time for itπŸ˜€
If we want to benefit from a doctor's visit, we better listen to and comply with the advice givenπŸ˜€
When we pray, we want to use our mind and mean from the bottom of our heart what we say. Then we make it silent within and enjoy the good feelings that flow in our heart, the great ideas that flow in our mindπŸ˜€

Lots of love and peace, wishing you a superb hairstyle, amazing health and a wonderful prayer🫢

As a raindrop

 As clean and pure

as a raindrop

from a thundering cloud

still suspended in the air

just before falling on my skin

As clean and pure,

I want my life to be

I pray I may have the strength today

to treat every single person I meet

like a VVIP

the biceps of my soul

----------------------------------------------------------------------

My prayer is the biceps of my soul,

pulling up my heart from its deepest depths,

lifting up my thoughts when they seem unbearable,

holding me when I stand near the edge of the cliff,

helping me to find the right words when I seem lost,

gaining strength whenever I use it.

Awe and faith

When the majority of people in a nation lose their faith, the nation may be in trouble.

The loss of faith is not merely a loss of religion. It is a very well known fact that many religions are fraught with abuse and inappropriate mind control of their followers. I was in Europe when we saw the crumbling down of the number of people attending weekly church services. And I think the main reason for that crumbling was the lack of focus on awe for the sanctity of life. Preachers and leaders of religion seem so addicted to rituals, not rarely void of meaning, and on the collection of money that they seem to forget to keep the followers exited about the magnificence of creation and thus the Creator.

Standing in awe for life, is easy. A simple example: if one understands how a muscle is contracting or a neuron fires, the whole process is nothing short of miraculous. How our system is controlling the whole process through a delicate balance of maintaining just enough of a large number of substances, is so extremely amazing. It is not only the narrow normal range of potassium and sodium our blood and  inside our cells, it is also calcium, magnesium, proteins, electrical charges and so much more, that is necessary for a successful action potential (the firing of a neuron or a muscle cell) And this is just one of a huge number of examples of the extreme nature of human physiology.

The choice of no longer following certain rituals, certain leaders, preachers, should never mean that we lose our faith in our Creator and our awe for life. If it is some time ago that you stopped the routines of life, to just be amazed by a piece of beauty or complexity of nature, it may high time to incorporate on a daily basis some time to think about how fantastic the world really is.

A small walk, a small poem

This morning, in the middle of the monsoon season
The clouds were covering the sky
but somehow the weather was dry

A small walk on the beach. The sun came peeping through a thin spot in the carpet of grayness.
My mind wandered in the direction of that great energy that flows through stems and twigs of trees in spring, to that great energy that feeds the wild flowers growing their amazing colors at random. My heart strolled towards that lovely force that makes the sea move, that tender power that generates the winds.
My soul woke up and became a bit vocal pushing me over the cliff in a bustling sea of gratitude and kindness, floating like an eagle.

I stopped in my steps and turned to the sea, my eyes focused on a large wave:

The masculine shoulders of a big wave
Sway elegantly towards the shore
Then suddenly they break out
In a sea of white tears,
 Splashing in the sky
 Strolling forward to come
 And give a gentle massage
 To my legs and feet.

If you can make the time today, my friends, to make a short walk in nature, please do not let the opportunity pass. It can be so refreshing, so soothing, so wonderful.

Sand or sea?

Am I merely a tiny grain of sand
on the shore of a sea without end?

But then, within that simple grain,
 there sits a most amazing brain;
 a heart filled to the brim with love;
a soul easily connecting to what is above.

 Within this grain I find a giant peace;
 a stream of love that ‘ll never cease;
                                                       an eye for beauty and harmony;
a soul full of passion for creativity

Are we just a grain of sand or are we more?
We may well be a sea with sand on its shore?

Sell your cleverness...

Sell your cleverness; buy bewilderment- Rumi-

You know what I did today in my car? Usually I listen to some music or to an uplifting audio-book, but today I decided to do something different:

I imagined that in my car there was an ocean of peace and on every oncoming car or motorcycle I poured a bucket of peace. It was fun. I poured the peace and said out loud: here is a bucket of peace for you. In my imagination the peace flowed all over the front windows into the cars. While standing in front of a traffic light, I pulled a bucket out of the ocean of harmony too and poured it over a few drivers who had already received my buckets of peace. I kept pouring buckets of peace and harmony until I reached my workplace. When I reached, I felt so filled with peace and harmony, more than ever before. It had one of the most pleasant rides to my work and I felt good about it. :)

Sell your cleverness; buy bewilderment- Rumi-
